JORHAT, Dec 15 - The Golaghat Election District recorded 65.98 percent of polling in the election to the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council.
According to election officials, the Thengal Kamargaon council constituency recorded 54.1 percent of polling, while the Kasamari and Chaudangpathar council constituencies witnessed 74.6 and 72.57 per cent polling respectively.
The Chaudangpathar (Day-ang) council constituency recorded 71 per cent polling. Officials said that the election was conducted peacefully. Fourteen candidates are in the fray for the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council. The results of the poll will be announced on December 17, stated the officials.
