60 scribes screened for post-covid complications

GUWAHATI, Nov 6 - Nearly 60 Guwahati-based journalists were screened by a team of doctors at the Gauhati Press Club (GPC) today for post-COVID health complications and other general health issues.

The health camp was organised by GPC in association with the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ahmed Barek, Assistant Professor (Medicine), GMCH, spoke on post-COVID complications which he said should be diagnosed as early as possible. Dr Barek also said that it was important for everyone to stay extra careful whenever they go out or meet people.

Dr Diganta Buragohain, GMCH, stressed the need to maintain the basic personal hygiene and take utmost precautions till the vaccine for the virus arrives.

GPC general secretary Sanjoy Ray also spoke on the occasion and offered the vote of thanks to both Dr Barek and Dr Buragohain, besides GMCH superintendent Dr Abhijit Sarma and GMCH principal Prof Achyut Baishya for their support in organizing the camp.

GPC vice president Dhaniram Kalita, assistant general secretary Manisha Kalita, cultural secretary Pallabi Bora, sports secretary Dhiraj Hazarika and others were also present on the occasion.
