GUWAHATI, Jan 10 � Six students� bodies of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have jointly demanded that the construction of big dams should be halted till the consultation with experts is completed.
The organizations � North East Students� Organization (NESO), All Assam Students� Union (AASU), Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK), Nefa Indigenous Human Rights Organization, West Siang District Students� Union and Galo Students Union demanded that big dams would be threats to life, property, culture and civilization of the region.
The students� bodies also decided to tackle the issues of construction of big dams and illegal migration of foreigners together. They also decided to strengthen the bond of unity among the people of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
