NALBARI, March 15 � Six persons were injured, two of them critically in a clash between supporters of Dr Bhumidhar Barman and Kamalesh Deka at Sarukuchi village in Nalbari district last night. The critically injured, Naushad Ali (60) and Siddik Ali have been shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. The other four injured are Rahman Ali, Matijan Bibi, Akidul Ali and Jaber Ali.
Meanwhile the police of Kamarkuchi outpost arrested four persons in this connection. It may be mentioned that Kamalesh Deka was the ticket aspirant from the Congress party but the high command denied him candidature.
In Nalbari LAC, about a thousand supporters of Madan Kalita, a strong ticket aspirant of Congress today took out a protest rally for denial of party ticket to him. They also mounted pressure on Kalita, a former MLA of the constituency to fight as a independent candidate.
