59 more candidates file nomination to GHADC

TURA, Sept 19 - Another 59 candidates filed their nomination papers yesterday for the upcoming GHADC elections. Sitting Chief Executive Member Alphonse A Sangma also put in his nomination on Friday.

Former DC of South Garo Hills, Arlene Sangma also joined the fray to the district council for the Tura seat. Arlene had earlier contested the MLA seat from Chokpot on a Congress ticket but lost narrowly. She will contest as an independent after Congress denied her a ticket.
