TURA, May 20 - Cracking down on the illegal sale of liquor, deputy commissioner (Excise) of West Garo Hills, Ram Singh has stated that raids were conducted across the district leading to the arrest of 58 persons.
The persons were arrested during the months of March and April last. A total of 58 cases were detected including five unclaimed cases with seizure amounting to over 98 litres of IMFL, 119 litres of beer and 87 litres of Indian liquor.
In this regard, 13 cases were disposed off and a fine amounting to Rs 9,500 was realised.
