53 villages affected in Nalbari dist

NALBARI,July 25 - As many as 53 villages of Nalbari district have been badly affected by the second wave of flood so far.

The surging water of the rivers Pagladia, Mora Pagladia, Buhradia, Nona and Kanai Khunda inundated the villages under six revenue circles including Nalbari, Paschim Nalbari, Banekuchi, Barbhag, Ghograpar and Barkhetri. The overflowing water of Pagladia river submerged Dhamdhama, Balitara, Sariahtali, Kachimpur, Namati among others forcing the district administration to deploy Army personnel in rescue operation. Around 45,000 people have been affected for the second wave of flood. The Nalbari district administration has set up 33 relief camps in the flood-affected areas. According to the official source, 13,486 distressed people have been taking shelter in the relief camps so far.
