IMPHAL, March 25 � Five candidates including sitting Congress MP Dr Thokchom Meinya Singh filed their nomination papers for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls at the office of the Returning Officer K Radhakumar Singh here yesterday.
Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, Deputy CM Gaikhangam, PHE Minister Irengbam Hemochandra, Industries Minister K Gobindas and Agriculture Minister Md Nasir accompanied the sitting MP in filing the nomination paper.
Three other candidates including BJPcandidate Dr RK Ranjan Singh, CPI candidate Dr Moirangthem Nara Singh and Independent candidate Indira Oinam also filed their nomination papers on Monday.
Earlier, Manipur People�s Democratic Front candidate G Tonsana filed his nomination paper for the Inner Manipur parliamentary seat. The last date for submitting nominations for the Inner Manipur parliamentary seat is March 26 and scrutiny will be held on March 29.
