ITANAGAR, Feb 1 � Altogether five candidates are in the fray for the February 13 by-election to Liromoba Assembly seat in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The five candidate are Nyamar Karbak of Congress, Bai Gadi of BJP and three Independent candidates � Lijum Ronya, Johny Tali and Raksap Yomcha, an Election department official said.

Karbak, a first timer, is the president of Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress. Gadi had unsuccessfully contested the 2004, 2009 and 2014 Assembly elections from the constituency.

The by-election was necessitated following the untimely demise of former Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin who won the seat thrice in a row. � PTI
