48 in fray for 7 seats in Dibrugarh dist

DIBRUGARH, March 21 - Following withdrawal of nominations by three candidates in the district today, 48 candidates remain in the fray for the 7 Assembly seats in the district.

The candidates who withdrew nominations today are Independent candidates Arabinda Sonowal and Tirtha Gogoi from Naharkatia LAC and Independent candidate Jiten Baruah from Moran LAC. Altogether 53 candidates had filed their nominations, of which two were rejected.
