4 teenage girls go missing in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, March 26 - In what appeared to be a case of human trafficking, four teenage girls were reported missing from Wakro in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. One of the missing girl�s family fears that the young girls could be victims of human trafficking.

The four girls � Kumalsi Pul (12), Anjalu Ngadong (16), Ashilu Yun (15) and Kambli Chetry (14) went missing from Wakro on March 21 evening.

An FIR lodged by Chireng (Wakro) native Badamlu Pul, mother of Kumalsi Pul, with Tezu police station on March 24, said that it is suspected that somebody might have taken them outside Arunachal Pradesh.

Tezu PS has registered a case under section 363/367 of Indian Penal Code and launched an investigation.

The Cultural and Literary Society of Mishmi (CALSOM), a prominent social organisation of the Mishmi community, today urged the Police department to launch a speedy investigation into the case in order to trace out the missing girls.
