4 students among 6 new COVID-19 patients in Mizoram

Aizawl, Feb 19: Four students were among six new patients of COVID-19 detected during the last 24 hours in Mizoram, official statement said.

The six new cases were detected from 1,023 samples tested across Mizoram on Thursday.

Of the six fresh cases, four were reported from Lawngtlai district and one case each from Aizawl and Champhai districts.

The four students, all from Lawngtlai district, were diagnosed with COVID-19 during a mandatory test before entering hostels.

Mizoram government re-opened classes for 10 and 12 from January 22 while classes for 9 and 11 will commence from February 22.

RAgT is made mandatory for those to be admitted to hostel and thermal screening for day scholars.

Mizoram has so far detected 4,405 of which 23 are active cases. As many as 4,372 people have recovered from the disease.

The COVID-19 death toll in the state is 10.
