MORIGAON, April 1 - The District Session Judge, Morigaon, Dhrupad Kashyap Das has awarded rigorous imprisonment for life to four persons with a fine of Rs 25,000 each.
The four accused namely Md Abdul Aziz, Md Nobi Hussain,Mofizuddin and Saiful Islam of Baralimari village under Bhuragaon Police station in Morigaon district had attacked one Amsor Ali with lethal weapons at around 9 pm on August 31, 2011. The four accused attacked the victim at his own residence on the pretext that the victim did not pay an amount of Rs 50 to Md Nobi Hussain, which was due as daily wage. The father of the victim lodged an FIR and police registered a case against the culprit accordingly. The victim later succumbed to his injuries at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).
In his verdict, the judge ordered that the period of detention of the accused persons during the investigation or trial, if any, shall be set off against the period of imprisonment.
