4-member GU cyclists� team to Cherrapunji

JALUKBARI, March 26 - A four-member cyclists� team from Gauhati University is on its way to Cherrapunji in Meghalaya to promote bicycle tourism and its health benefits.

Bicycle tourism seems to be growing in the north-eastern states because of the region�s pristine natural beauty. �Crossroad pedals� is a cyclists� group formed by students of Gauhati University in order to generate awareness in society and also to promote cycling tourism and its health benefits.

The four-member team from Crossroad pedals that has set out for Cherrapunji comprises Baranya Borah, Mahendra Deka, Raj Lekharu and Shekhar Bordoloi.

Earlier, the team had cycled to Pobitora, Kaziranga and Dawki.
