GUWAHATI, Nov 8 � A major tragedy was averted following recovery of four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the railway track at a spot between the Dudhnoi and the Krishnai railway stations in Goalpara district early this morning.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) CPRO Sugato Lahiri said in a statement that the IEDs were recovered at a place about 110 km from Guwahati in the Kamakhya-New Bongaigaon (via Goalpara) section of the Rangiya division.
The IEDs were detected by two railway patrolmen, Ganesh Routh and BK Sahu at around 6.30 am. Police and security agencies were immediately informed.
