IMPHAL, Aug 15 - The recent flood due to continuous rains in Manipur in July-end, has damaged around 33,000 hectares of paddy fields, according to a report published in a local daily here. Thoubal district was the worst-hit district.
Thousands of villagers are on the brink of starvation as over 25 villages under Machi sub-division in Chandel district are totally cut off and remained inaccessible since the last one week due to multiple landslides. Several villages in Ukhrul district are also still disconnected from the rest of the State, reports added.
