33 new virus cases in Manipur

IMPHAL, Dec 26 - Manipur has reported no death case due to COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, officials said. The cumulative number of virus deaths in the State is 334.

An official press release stated that 33 civilians tested positive for COVID-19 at 15 testing facilities during the last 24 hours.

The new cases have been reported from Imphal West (15), Imphal East (12), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Churachandpur (1), Senapati (2) and Kakching (1), the release added.

Meanwhile, 84 persons, including 44 under home isolation, were discharged from 11 COVID care facilities in the past 24 hours, it added.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the State is currently 27,976, including 3,373 Central security personnel. The numbers of active and recovered cases stand at 1,301 and 26,331 respectively, the press release stated. The recovery rate of the State is 94.11 per cent.

As of Saturday, 5,17,919 people have been screened at various entry points into the State, while 4,72,612 individuals have been tested for COVID-19, officials said.
