3.23 lakh voters in Nalbari dist

NALBARI, April 22 - A total of 3,23,090 voters under two Assembly constituencies Barkshetri and Dharmapur in Nalbari district will cast their votes to decide the fates of the candidates of Guwahati and Barpeta Lok Sabha seats.

The Barkshetri LAC is under the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat while the Dharmapur LAC is under the Barpeta Lok Sabha seat. In Nalbari district, polling will be held at 430 polling stations including 243 at Barkshetri and 187 at Dharmapur LAC. The DC of Nalbari, Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury said that around 3000 polling personnel with the security personnel today left for their respective polling stations. The polling officials engaged for the 51 polling stations of remote char areas arrived at their respective polling stations yesterday. He further informed that 10 polling stations set up at Barkshetri and Dharmapur LACs will be managed by female presiding and polling officials. A model polling station has also been set up at Bangaon HS School where free medical check up will be carried out of the voters.
