DHUBRI, June 4 - As part of enhanced operational activities, an Excise department team raided the Dhubri and Gauripur Railway Stations yesterday, and seized 300 litres of illicit liquor.
The excise team first searched the Kamakhya Dhubri Passenger Train at Dhubri town and recovered 150 litres of illicit liquor. The team later made its way towards Gauripur town and launched a massive search operation on the New Bongaigaon Siliguri DEMU Special Train from where it seized another 150 litres of illicit liquor. �No person has been arrested in connection with the incidents and all the seized items were brought to the Dhubri Excise Camp, Nuniapatty,� said Manas Jyoti Das, Superintendent of Excise, Dhubri. Two cases have been registered in this regard, he added.
