GUWAHATI, March 12 - Thirty eminent personalities of the North East including Sikkim who had earned distinction in the fields of art, culture, education and social service, were felicitated at a function held under the aegis of socio-cultural organisation Anuprerana, here recently, said a delayed press release.
Anuprerana has for the last six years been honouring distinguished persons of the North East for their meritorious services to society.
Dr SI Ahmed, Purnima Pathak Saikia, Ambika Charan Barman and Chandradhar Kalita, office-bearers of Anuprerana, while felicitating the distinguished persons, said that silent workers rendering distinguished services should be honoured in order to generate consciousness in society for the cause of downtrodden communities in particular and the masses in general.
N Warzi, senior journalist and social worker of Meghalaya appreciated the laudable venture of Anuprerana.
