KARIMGANJ, July 8 � A 30 MW solar power project is soon going to come up at Chargola at Anipur under Karimganj district.
Gujarat-based JJ Solar Pvt Ltd will execute the construction work for the 30 MW solar power project in the 200 acre patta land of Cachar Sugar Mills Ltd. With a view to implement the project, JJ Solar Pvt Ltd chairman Damji Patel along with a technical team inspected the project site recently.
Later, the chairman informed that the technical team has given green signal to set up the power project in the Cachar Sugar Mill premises. The chairman said 100 acres land is required to set up 15 MW solar power plant. Within a year, construction work will commence depending upon the satisfactory discussion with the Assam Government, he further added.
At the time of the site inspection, the former chemist of Cachar Sugar Mill, Mriganka Dutta Chaudhury, and Chargola GP president Bijoy Kanu accompanied the solar power team.
Ratabari MLA Kripanath Malah informed that they have taken initiative to set up another tow solar power plants, one in Cachar and another in Hailakandi district.
