IMPHAL, Sept 13 - Three militants belonging to different factions of Peoples Revolutionary Army of Kangleipak (PREPAK) were arrested by combined forces of Assam Rifles and Manipur police in the last two days from different parts in Manipur.
A combined team of Assam Rifles picked up a cadre of PREPAK (PRO) group identified as K Naoba, self-styled corporal from Thoubal district, an Assam Rifles release said.
A woman militant cadre of outlawed PREPAK was arrested by a combined team of lady police of Imphal East district and Assam Rifles during a vehicular check on September 10 last, the release said. She was identified as Chanchan (38) of Nongkam village near Moreh border.
Yet another cadre of PREPAK (VC) group, a self-styled Lance Corporal Chingsubam Lalit of Imphal West district was arrested by Assam Rifles from Koirengei area of Imphal East district on September 10 last.
He confessed of involvement in extortion activities in Imphal area to raise party fund and was handed over to Heingang police station, the release said. � PTI
