ITANAGAR, March 19 - Naga outfits operating from the soils of eastern Arunachal Pradesh suffered yet another blow with the security forces nabbing three hardcore cadres of NSCN � including two from Isak Muivah faction and another from Unification group � in two different incidents in Tirap district on Thursday last. The security forces also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the arrested cadres, official sources here said.
Giving details, the sources said the Assam Rifles personnel of Khonsa conducted a search operation in Lothang village that led to arrest of one cadre of NSCN(IM) from adjoining jhoom field (shifting cultivation). Later, on his tip-off, another accomplice was apprehended from jungle area.
One 7.62mm AK 47 rifle, one 7.65 mm automatic pistol, grenades, explosives, detonators and a huge quantity of ammunition were recovered from their possession.
The security forces, meanwhile, arrested an NSCN(U) cadre from Borduria area of Tirap district after an intense search operation for more than 24 hours, on Thursday last.
They also recovered a .303 rifle, 16 live rounds and 78 rounds of AK 47 from his possession, the sources said.
