3 LAEF rebels held by Army

TURA, Dec 2 - Three cadres belonging to the Liberation of Achik Elite Force (LAEF) was apprehended by Army personnel from Kukurkata village near Assam-Meghalaya border.

The three cadres were identified as � Charan Marak alias Chukhan, Walter Marak alias Gingjong and Let Marak alias Rongdot. The trio hails from Phulbari under West Garo Hills district.

According to Army press release, the three cadres had undergone training at NSCN�s Hebron camp in Nagaland and at a camp in North Garo Hills.

The Army team recovered two AK series rifles, two magazines, 30 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition and some incriminating documents from the apprehended cadres. The outfit was formed in 2005 and has been involved in unleashing terror in Garo Hills.
