GUWAHATI, March 4 � Three members of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity, including its joint general secretary Kamal Medhi, joint publicity secretary Dharjya Konwar and vice president Amarjyoti Bezbaruah, today filed anticipatory bail petitions before the Gauhati High Court.
The matter is expected to come before the Court tomorrow, sources said.
While Kamal Medhi and Dharjya Konwar filed the petition jointly, Amarjyoti moved the court with a separate petition.
Meanwhile, the father of Bedanta Laskar, Molan Laskar, who himself is a former president of the KMSS, has alleged that Kamal Medhi and Amar Bezbaruah have been inciting his son to resort to self-immolation demanding release of KMSS president Akhil Gogoi.
Akhil Gogoi and five other KMSS members were arrested on Sunday morning in connection with the Pranab Boro self-immolation case. The court later granted them four days� police custody.
Meanwhile, police said the investigation into the case is going on in the right direction.
SSP (City) AP Tiwari said, �We are questioning the accused and nothing could be shared with the media at this moment.�
