GUWAHATI, April 16 � Police today arrested three persons who had allegedly killed Bikash Mahanta, a class X student, in Chandmari area last night over some trivial issue. It was still not clear if the brawl took place under the influence of alcohol.
Bikash, a resident of Nizarapar, was attacked with a knife by a group of youths over some trivial issue and although he was taken to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, sources said.
The murder weapon has been recovered and the culprits identified, police said.
The arrested are Bhaskar Barua (20), Gautam Rajbongshi (20) and Abhijeet Rajbongshi (21). The accused are from Krishnanagar area, DCP (Central) Amitava Sinha said.
