JALUKBARI, Sept 27 - The Gauhati University NSS Cell is organising a mega special camp cum orientation programme on the university campus from September 28 to 30 to chalk out the action plan and a programme of NSS activities for this session.
Around 100 NSS programme officers and 200 NSS volunteers from different affiliated colleges under Gauhati University will be participating in the programme.
A yoga session and different technical sessions like NSS history, philosophy, aims and objectives, village adoptions, sanitation and open defecation free (ODF), national integration, life skills, soft skills, awareness on disaster management and mitigation, fire safety, awareness on tuberculosis and different cultural exchange events will be held during the programme.
The programme, to be inaugurated by the outgoing Vice Chancellor of GU Dr Mridul Hazarika, will also be attended by Prof Hari Prasad Sarma, Rector, GU; Dr Siddhartha Singh, Commissioner & Secretary, PHE, Govt of Assam; Deepak Kumar, Regional Director NSS, NER, Guwahati and Pabitra Ram Khound, Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, Govt of Assam.
