3 Bills tabled in Arunachal Assembly

ITANAGAR, Aug 28 - As many as three important Bills were introduced in the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, to be taken up for discussion and passage on Wednesday.

The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board Bill, 2018, the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 (Act No. 2 of 1899) (in its application to the State of Arunachal Pradesh) (Amendment) Bill, 2018 and the Arunachal Pradesh (Reorganisation of Districts) (Amendment) Bill, 2018 are the three Bills awaiting passage.

The first Bill provides for constitution of the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board for conducting examinations and selecting candidates for appointment to subordinate services and Group C posts in government departments, organisations and autonomous bodies established and constituted by the State Government and semi-government organisations.

The second Bill seeks to reduce the stamp duty for mortgage deeds from three to one per cent to enable entrepreneurs to have a better credit position and secure loans through mortgage without compromising on their financial stability.

The third Bill is concerning creation of three new districts � Pakke-Kesang, Lepa-Rada and Shi-Yomi � and substitution of the district headquarters of the existing Siang district by Boleng in place of Nyobo.

Pakke-Kesang is being carved out of the existing East Kameng district, while Lepa-Rada district is being carved from the Lower Siang district. Shi-Yomi district is being created from the existing West Siang district.
