2nd pilgrimage tourist train from May 10

GUWAHATI, March 23 - After the success of the first �Astha� special pilgrimage tourist train from the north-eastern region, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) and the Indian Railways will now run the second such train from Guwahati on May 10.

�The inaugural trip had been flagged off from Kamakhya Railway Station on February 17 and the pilgrims were highly satisfied with the trip. The next pilgrimage Astha circuit special tourist train will run from Guwahati on May 10,� NF Railway PRO Nripen Bhattacharya said today.

He added, �This time the major pilgrimage places of north India will be covered in a duration of eight nights and nine days, booking for which has already been opened.�

Among the major places which the train will cover this time are Amritsar, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mathura, Vrindavan, Agra and Varanasi.

�The entire trip, inclusive of train journey, road transfers, food, lodging, security arrangements, visits to places of interest, etc., has been priced at a very nominal rate of Rs 8,100 per person for the entire duration for the benefit of people of this region. Detailed information on the trip is available on the IRCTC website and the IRCTC office at Guwahati,� Bhattacharya said.
