GUWAHATI, Feb 17 - The Dr T Ao Birth Centenary Celebration Committee is all set to organise the second edition of the Dr T Ao Centenary North East International NEC Gold Cup (U-21) Football Championship at the SAI Regional Sports Complex and Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) playgrounds here from February 19 to 28.

Apart from eight Northeastern states, three foreign countries including Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh will be participating in the championship.

The teams are divided into two groups � A and B. Teams in Group A include Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, KT United (Bhutan) and Saif Sporting Club (Dhaka) while teams in Group B are Nepal Football Academy, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

The total prize money of the championship is Rs 15 lakh while the champion team will walk away with a prize money of Rs 8 lakh. The runners-up will receive Rs 4 lakh. The losing semifinalists will get Rs 1 lakh each. For the preparation of the Northeast teams, an amount of Rs 50,000 each has been sanctioned by the organiser of the championship.
