HAILAKANDI, Sept 7 � Altogether, 29 teachers of Hailakandi district, including six retired teachers were felicitated on Teacher�s Day at the Nazrul Sadan here.

The chief of North East India Amir-e-Shariat, Maulana Taibur Rahman Barbhuiya attended the function as the chief guest. The meeting held on the occasion was presided over by the DC of Hailakandi, Samsher Singh and was addressed by the president of Barak Upatyaka Banga Sahitya O Sanskriti Sanmilan, Nitish Bhattacharjee, principal of the Public Higher Secondary School, Sirajul Islam Majharbhuiya, president of the district BJP, Kshitish Ranjan Paul, president of the District Congress Committee, Ashok Duttagupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mukul Saikia, Kamrul Islam Barbhuiya of the District Madhyamik Sikshak and Karmachari Santha, Hifjur Rahman of the District Higher Secondary Teachers� Association, among others.
