28 teachers feted at Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI, Sept 6 - Twenty-eight teachers were felicitated in Hailakandi district on the occasion of 56th Teacher�s Day here at the Nazrul Sadan auditorium.

The meeting held on the occasion was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi, Ruthlien and was addressed by another Additional Deputy Commissioner, Amalendu Roy, the Executive Magistrate-cum-the District Mission Coordinator of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Dhruba Hatibaruah, eminent poet Ashutosh Das, former president of district committee of Bharatiya Janata Party, Kshitish Paul, Sukhendu Bikash Chakraborty, Samsuddin Barbhuiya, Mohammed Ali Majharbhuiya, Kamrul Islam Barbhuiya, Deputy Inspector of Schools, Iqbal Hussain, Riyaj Uddin Barbhuiya, Nazmul Islam, retired Education Department official, Sunil Sarma, Sankar Choudhury among others.

All of them highlighted the life and contribution of India�s second President and educationist Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and urged the teachers to follow the path shown by him. They said that the teachers are the backbone of the society and they should play a vital role to mould the career of children. They emphasised on the responsibility of the teachers and said that the teachers should be sincere enough while discharging their duties.

Dhubri: The 56th Teacher�s Day was observed in almost all the schools and colleges of the district. The Day was celebrated centrally at the Bilasipara College Auditorium by the district administration on Tuesday, where 55 personalities of the noble profession were accorded rich felicitations.

The central programme was presided over by ADC Sorman Ali Ahmed in the presence of Bilasipara SDO (Civil) MS Laxmipriya, president of the Dhubri Sahitya Sabha Abdul Hussain Sheikh and DIPRO Bikash Sharma. Ali highlighted the significance of the day and appealed to the teachers to dedicate themselves towards the development of the society and be an example for the students as well as the upcoming generations.

He also urged the teachers to take up the profession seriously and urged them to be punctual and dedicated.
