26th anniversary of Khetri-based school organised

JAGIROAD, Feb 5 - The 26th annual day of Green View Academy of Khetri was held with elaborate programmes recently in the presence of about 300 guardians along with their wards.

The programme started with hoisting of the flag by the Principal of the school Kalpana Saikia. A wall magazine containing write-ups by the students and teachers of the school was inaugurated by Jogen Chandra Kalita, an academician of the locality.

Professor Bhaskarjyoti Deka of the Department of Physics of Dimoria College inaugurated an exhibition of science projects and models held on the occasion, which was participated by students of the academy.

An open meeting held on the occasion was chaired by the chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdul Hassan. The meeting was graced by Dr Dipak Jyoti Baruah, Associate Professor of English of Jagiroad College as the chief guest. In his speech, he hailed the academy�s achievements over the years, while mentioning about its efforts to motivate and stimulate the students� creatively.

A school is the second home for a student and, therefore, it must try to render all possible inputs for overall growth of their personality, he added.

The secretary of the trustee SBL Boro, Lecturer of Shankar Madhav Junior Collge Rupjyoti Baruah, Academic Officer of the school Binay Ranjan Kakati also spoke in the meeting.

Students of the school who performed well in their examinations and in various co-curricular activities were felicitated. The anniversary celebrations came to an end in the evening with holding of a cultural programme which was participated by the students and the teachers of the school.
