24 HSLC examinees expelled in Barpeta

BARPETA, Feb 19 � Five impersonating examinees appearing for the HSLC/AHM examinations at the Baghbar High School examination centre were handed over to police.

According to Sohrab Ali, Inspector of Schools (Barpeta), five youths appearing for other students were identified by the invigilators and the same was brought to the notice of the centre-in-charge of the Baghbar HS Examination Centre. Following lodging of an FIR, police took them into their custody. He added that the actual students, for whom the impersonators appeared, will also be punished as per rules.

The Inspector of Schools also informed that as many as 24 examinees were expelled for adopting unfair means in 11 examination centres of the district.

He said the Gunialguri HS Centre and the Baghbar HS Centre top the list with five candidates expelled from the exam. While two candidates were expelled from the BK Ohad Ali HS, Bagodi HSS, Tarabari HSS, Dhakaliapara HSS and Kayakuchi HSS centres, one examinee each were expelled from Barbhitha HS, Janapriya HSS, Mandia HSS and Palhaji HSS centres.

It may be mentioned here that the HSLC/AHM examinations, conducted by the Board of Secondary School Assam, began today.
