24 dengue cases detected

DIMAPUR, Sept 23 - From January 2017 till date, 24 persons out of 79 reported cases have tested positive for dengue while 10 persons tested positive out of 43 reported cases for Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Dimapur District Hospital.

This was revealed by Dr T Temsu, incharge of Sentinel Surveillance site Lab, Dimapur District Hospital at the Intersectoral Convergence Meeting on Dengue at Dimaur DC�s conference hall.

The number of dengue cases showed a decline in 2017 as against 141 positive cases in 2016 out of 772 reported cases. However, the number of JE cases showed an increase from nil positive case in 2016 to 10 positive cases in 2017. There was only one reported case of JE in 2016 which was tested negative.
