AIZAWL, Dec 25 - With the detection of 22 fresh COVID-19 infections, Mizoram�s total virus count rose to 4,178 today.
An official statement said the new cases were detected from 1,014 samples tested on December 24. Of these new cases, 14 were reported from Aizawl district, seven from Lunglei district and one from Hnahthial district.
Thirteen of the new patients, including eight security personnel, are returnees from other States. The rest contracted the virus locally.
Currently, there are 146 active cases in Mizoram.
So far, the State has tested 1,75,756 samples from which 4,178 cases of COVID-19 have been detected with a positivity rate of 2.37 percent.
Of 4,178 infected persons, 4,024 have recovered and the recovery rate stands at 96.31 percent. The State has reported eight COVID-19 fatalities so far.
