LAWNGTLAI (MIZORAM), Nov 30 - At least 21 people have been arrested during a surprise check in Serchhip on Friday allegedly for misusing Inner Line Permit (ILP), police said.
In a joint operation, Kumpuan Committee of YMA, Serchhip and police on Friday launched a mass surprise check on ILP in Serchhip town. Twenty-one non-tribals were arrested during the operation for allegedly misusing their permit and for not possessing ILP.
Some were also arrested on ground of invalid or expired ILP. Cases were registered against the arrested people.
