By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, April 12 - To cater to the increasing demand for berths from passengers of the north bank of the Brahmaputra river, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to attach one AC 3-tier coach and two Sleeper Class coaches on permanent basis in the Kamakhya-Murkongselek Lachit Express.

The addition of these coaches will result in the creation of more than 200 additional berths in the train, said NFRs Chief PRO Pranav Jyoti Sharma.

NFR authority has been adding extra coaches in various trains depending on demand as well as availability, thereby creating additional berths for intending passengers to travel. More than 5,000 berths have been added permanently in many long- as well as short-distance trains during the last financial year 2017-18 alone, he said.
