TURA, Oct 24 - A two year-old child was raped by a 14 year-old teen in Williamnagar town in East Garo Hills district on Saturday.
The victim girl was taken to hospital in critical condition but is said to the out of danger now and recuperating.
According to sources, the infant was left in the care of the teen when the parents went to attend the funeral of a friend on October 22. Taking advantage of their absence, the 14 year-old sexually assaulted her. After the discovery of the incident, police were informed after which the girl was rushed to hospital.
The teen was caught and handed over to District Child Protection Office (DCPO) and later sent to an observation home. An FIR was filed by the family at Williamnagar PS.
