2 ULFA men killed in IED blast

SONARI, Nov 21 � Two hardcore ULFA militants (anti-talk faction) were killed in an IED blast when they tried to plant the bomb in the railway track in between Bhojo and longpatia railway stations under Sonari PS within Tinsukia Railway Division around 1.40 am today.

The bomb exploded before could be planted in the railway track due to mishandling of the IED by the ULFA cadres.

ULFA�s target was to blow up the Up-Kamrup Express which was scheduled to pass by that area within one hour.

Army personnel reached the place of the blast in the wee hours today. A crater of about three metres long and two feet deep was created in the railway track at Chaurangabam village.

The Army personnel recovered the bodies of two ULFA cadres in a very badly multilated condition at a distance of about 200 metres from the place of the blast in a nearby paddy field. The decased militants were identified as Ramen Dhadumia alias Jitu Bora, who was a self-styled sergant major of ULFA�s 28th Battalion and was a resident under Borhat PS and self style sergant Hiren Gogoi under Merapani PS of Golaghat district.
