JORABAT, Oct 16 - Acting on a tip-off, Jorabat police seized two trucks transporting cattle on National Highway-37 here late last night. Altogether 55 bovines were rescued from the two vehicles.
According to police sources, the two trucks bearing registration numbers AS 01LC 8185 and AS 02CC 0632 without requisite documents for transportation.
The drivers and the helpers of the seized trucks were detained for interrogation. Preliminary investigation revealed that the cattle were brought from Nagaon and were being taken to Meghalaya.
