IMPHAL, Nov 15 - Two truck drivers have been kidnapped for ransom by some armed men along the National Highway 2 on Saturday evening.
The kidnapping took place at about 6 pm on Saturday at Daine village along Imphal-Dimapur road. The kidnapped drivers have been identified as Bishwajit from Assam and Lanchan from Bihar. The police have registered a case in this regard.
The suspected militants who came in a Maruti van took away the drivers towards Kalapahar side along the highway section of Imphal-Dimapur road after they were being kidnapped, according to sources.
Reports have suggested that the militants kidnapped the two truck drivers for ransom.
