Duliajan, Jan 29: A team of Duliajan police arrested two thieves while they were cutting abandoned OIL pipeline in the wee hours of Friday. The development took place when the police team of Duliajan PS received an information about pipeline cutting by two thieves for metal scrap trade near 6 no. OCS at Salakataki village of Duliajan.
Duliajan police arrested Rubul Tamuly (26) of 2 no. Salakataki village, Duliajan and Pranjal Gogoi (27) of 2 no. Dighalia Gaon of Sasoni.
According to information, the two thieves used oxygen and gas cylinders to cut the oil pipeline. A set of gas and oxygen cylinders was recovered from the crime scene. Police also seized a Tata DI 207 vehicle bearing registration number AS-23-BC-2993 from the spot.
Police has registered a case under Section 379 of IPC and sent the two thieves to Dibrugarh prison.
