2 test positive in Mizoram

AIZAWL, July 3 - Two persons have tested positive for COVID-19 and one recovered patient has been discharged in Mizoram in the last 24 hours. The two patients, including a woman, are from Aizawl and Champhai districts. They are aged 55 and 56 years.

With two fresh cases, Mizoram�s COVID-19 tally today rose to 162 with 35 active cases.

Of 140 samples tested on Thursday at the Zoram Medical College (ZMC) and the Lunglei civil hospital, results of 138 samples were negative.

Meanwhile, a 57-year-old bus conductor, who tested positive on June 12, was discharged from the ZMC on Friday. He used to ferry returnees from the Bairabi Railway Station on the Mizoram-Assam border.

Meanwhile, a sum of Rs 2 crore was sanctioned from the Chief Minister�s Relief Fund today for purchasing 10 TrueNat machines, which will be installed at various district hospitals, an official source said.
