2 more held in NRL petrol depot loot case

JORABAT, Oct 17 - The August 24 Jorabat NRL petrol depot dacoity case in which an approximate amount of Rs 20 lakh was looted from the manager and assistant manager Govind Shetty and Omprakash Maheshwari respectively was looted while they were on their way to deposit the previous two days� sale proceeds at the SBI Jorabat Branch, took an interesting turn today when the police caught two security guards deployed at the petrol depot by their employer Robocops, a private security firm based at Boragaon in the city.

The duo, Ganesh Bodah, (30) a resident of Lanka and Dadul Saikia (27), a resident of Puranigudam in Nagaon, were today arrested by Jorabat Police on the basis of the statement given by the master planner of the crime Moidul Islam, who was arrested on October 13 while he was watching a football match in Nalbari.

Police sources informed The Assam Tribune that Moidul, who was the handyman of a trailer and used to frequently come to the petrol depot for refill, collected information about the petrol depot from Bodah and Saikia. Till now six persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
