2 more arrested in molestation case

GUWAHATI, July 15 � Police today arrested two more persons in connection with the July 9 molestation incident even as activists under various banners including India Against Corruption, Nirjyaton Birudhi Oikya Mancha, KMSS took out a protest procession demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.

The arrested persons have been identified as Diganta Basumatary and Nabajyoti Deka. Both the accused are the employees of the liquor shop near which the molesters were reportedly standing.

Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team has been constituted to probe the July 9 incident. Investigators have so far arrested six persons in this connection.

Meanwhile, protesters marched from Lakhidhar Bora Khetra here and proceeded via GS Road to the private satellite channel office staging dharna outside and raising slogans demanding that this news channel be closed. Later in the day, the KMSS submitted the raw footage of the molestation incident to the DGP. It needs to be mentioned here that the KMSS has been claiming that the raw footage will establish the involvement of the reporter of the new channel in the incident.
