TURA, June 17 � Residents mercilessly beat up two extortionists in Radi village near Resubelpara when they came to collect extortion money at about 4 pm yesterday. One of the extortionists was a surrendered cadre of the Garo National Liberation Army.
According to sources, the duo had been demanding money and threatening action against those who did not pay. Another associate ran away before the mob attacked the extortionists. The duo was later rescued by the police and taken to a nearby hospital where they are recovering from injuries.
