2-day total shutdown ends in Garo Hills

TURA, June 13 � The two-day Non-Cooperation Movement (NCM) called by the Garo Students Union (GSU) to demand a judicial probe into the alleged custodial deaths of Balsan S Marak and Witson Sangma, which brought normal life to a total stop in the Garo Hills, ended today.

The GSU has also demanded compensation to the family of the victim of an alleged fake encounter, one Washington Marak. Offices, schools and business establishments remained completely closed during the stir.
