GUWAHATI, Nov 27 � Militancy connected with cross-border jihadi activities will top the agenda of the 49th meet of the state police heads to be held in Guwahati.
The two-day meet starting on November 29 at the Assam Administrative Staff College, will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with the top bosses of the country�s intelligence agencies.
Heads of the paramilitary forces will also be present at the meet, which is being hosted first time outside New Delhi.
Issues like human trafficking, narcotics and increasing deaths due to road mishaps will also feature in the agenda.
The event, which will also be attended by the heads of all paramilitary forces, will be hosted by the Intelligence Bureau.
Director General of Assam Police Khagen Sarma told mediapersons that a special session on militancy in the Northeast will also be held during the meeting.
He also informed that Chief Ministers of all the northeastern States including Sikkim will attend the two-day event.
�The entire city will be covered in the security plan and additional 30 companies of forces will be deployed in and around Guwahati. It is a prestigious event and we appeal to the people to cooperate as the militant groups are trying to create disturbances,� the DGP Sarma said.
