MIRZA, Sept 20 - The Officer-in-Charge of the Nagarbera Police Station, Bhaben Chandra Nath, and the in-charge of the Mandia Police Outpost, Amiyo Goswami � were today transferred from the respective offices for failing to arrest Boko MLA and AIUDF leader Gopinath Das, against whom his former domestic help has levelled a sexual harassment charge.
Meanwhile, police in Guwahati today arrested three brothers-in-law of Gopinath Das � Indrajit Choudhury, Prasenjit Choudhury and Biswajit Choudhury � for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of the teenage victim and her parents on September 8 last and forcing them to sign bond papers in an undisclosed location, sources said.
A senior police official said that the arrests have been made on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim�s mother against Gopinath Das� brothers-in-law.
The arrested persons were today brought to the Boko Police Station. Their interrogation is on.
Police also brought two persons, Shyamlal Barman and Ratul Baishya, to the Boko Police Station for interrogation in connection the kidnapping of the girl and her parents.
Police have conducted several raids searching for Gopinath Das in the houses of his friends located at Nagarbera and Guwahati, but the accused has managed to give police a slip so far.
It may be mentioned here that the 14-year-old girl, a resident of Jogipara village near Hekra under Boko Police Station, had lodged an FIR at the Mandia Police Outpost under Boko PS on September 6 against Gopinath Das, alleging that he raped her in his car on August 29 last.
